Trust Based Relational Intervention Caregiver Training – Class 1

January 26, 2019 @ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) Caregiver Training provides tools to better understand the needs of children that have had difficult beginnings.

TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed parenting approach that is designed to meet the complex needs of “children from hard places”. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. Because of their histories, children from hard places have changes in their bodies, brains, behaviors, and belief systems. While a variety of parenting strategies may be successful in typical circumstances, children from hard places need caregiving that meets their unique needs and addresses the whole child. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.

This will be CLASS 1 of a THREE part series of 7-hour classes that will take place at Central Christian Church (Mesa Campus) from 8:30 – 3:30 pm on the following dates:

Class 1 – (January 26) Connecting Principles: Gain insight into your own attachment style and how it can impact your relationships with children. Learn ways to strengthen attachments with children from hard.

Class 2 – (February 23) Empowering Principles:  How to Empower your children physiologically through a structured, sensory rich environment, as well as introduce strategic self-regulation tools and ideas.

Class 3 – (March 30) Correcting Principles: Learn proactive and responsive strategies such as offering choices, compromises, sharing power and using life value terms to help children with challenging behaviors.

The cost of the class is $15, per class – per person. $40 for a single person to attend all 3 or $75 for a couple to attend all 3 classes. Lunch will be provided.

It is highly recommended that the classes be taken in order. If you are only able to take class 1 or 2 – the other classes can be taken at a later time. However, you will NOT be able to attend class 3 until classes 1 + 2 have been completed.
